Allans Flat Reserve is approximately eight kilometres from Yackandandah, heading north east on the Yackandandah-Wodonga Road. The lake at the reserve is a popular swimming hole for locals, created during the gold rush days from dredge mining. The lake was created by gold dredging operations.A Recreational Fishing Licence is required unless you are under 18 years or over 70 years old. Contact the Yackandandah Visitor Informationn Centre for a list of retailers where licences can be purchased and information on bait and tackle supplies. The turn-off is easy to miss so keep an eye-out for the unmade road that is the entrance to the Reserve.
