The Mercantile Rowing Club was born in September 1880 during a meeting at Young & Jacksons, the Club was initially called The Junior Warehouseman’s Rowing Club. The group which formed the club had a common interest in their association with the various mercantile warehouses established in Melbourne around Flinders Street and Flinders Lane, and a year later, the name was changed to Mercantile Rowing Club.On the 12th March, this great club will be hosting a major rowing regatta con Lake Nagambie the winners of which will head to Sydney to the National Rowing Regatta or through to APS Heads of the River held the next weekend 19th March at Lake aNagambie again. An exciting innovation for this regatta is that EFX Video Productions will be providing live video steaming of this regatta. A link will be available here shortly so you can view the races on the big screen at the venue. See the races from start to finish which is the first time this has been available at the Nagambie Lakes Regatta Centre.
