As far back as the 1880's the people of Winton North and surrounds gathered for an Annual Picnic and evening Woolshed Dance on Walter Bain’s property, Redbank. Join Winton Wetlands during the 2016 Benalla Festival for a colourful celebration of this rich history with the first Community Picnic at The Spit in more than 55 years.

Starting with a leisurely guided 1500 metre stroll along the Lunette, everyone will make their way to the iconic Lookout where a mouth-watering picnic of tasty local eats and drinks and spectacular views of the surrounding hills and wetlands will be waiting for you. Well fed, watered and rested, you will then head back to the old European heritage site to enjoy some live music from the era and a traditional supper as the sun goes down.

Bring your walking shoes.

Directions: please arrive at the Bill Friday Swamp and Spit Walk on Winton North Road, Winton Wetlands, by 4pm. You will be directed to the event car park from there.
