This two day workshop is designed for anyone interested in exploring the fascinating world of botanical art. Students will learn the basics needed to understand and enjoy this exquisite art form. The workshop will focus on observing structure, form and light and to be aware of these in tonal drawings; to sketch and compose and to understand the methods for mixing water colours applicable to botanical art. Students will also be given the opportunity to draw a live specimen and to render a fine painting. They will complete the workshop with the tools and techniques needed to continue with botanical art as a hobby. Your tutor will be Christine Cansfield-Smith. The workshop will take place on June 23 and 24 from 9:30am to 4:00pm at Mayday Hills Art Society. All materials will be provided.
