Family activities

Drive through the Great Ocean Road region with the kids and find a range of fun activities, both indoors and out. With an abundance of spectacular natural attractions, vivid local histories and adventure playgrounds to explore, you'll be sure to find something to keep the little 'uns happy and entertained. And that means more time for you to put your feet up.

Fairies and fun lovers
Waterslides, magic castles, trampolines and mazes – there's no end of fun to be had for kids and grownups alike. Spend a day reliving the legends of old amid the castles and gardens of Fairy Park. Hit the slides and go karts or have a shot at archery at Adventure Park in Wallington. Want more? Bounce the day away at the Geelong's bungy trampoline or get on board the Portarlington mini railway.

Maritime mysteries
From Geelong to Warrnambool, the history of the Great Ocean Road is alive with tales of terrible shipwrecks, colonial struggles and maritime mysteries. Learn about the region's colourful heritage at lighthouses and museums across the region. Visit the Flagstaff Maritime Village along the famous shipwreck coast, look out over the raging Southern Ocean from the Cape Otway Lightstation, and take a tour of the South Channel Fort in Port Phillip Bay.

Nature's way
The best way to see the region's abundant marine life is to get out on the water. Join a tour and see dolphins at play, seals lazing about on the coast and local birdlife up close. Come between June and October and watch out along the coast for southern right whales and blue whales. For a bird's eye of view of the mighty Otway National Park, make the trip through temperate rainforest and climb the steps of the Otway Fly.
