Anglesea
Seek inspiration from life by the water in Anglesea, whether living it up on pristine ocean beaches or browsing market stalls and picnicking by the river.
Endless beach days
Play in the sun on Anglesea's main beach, a wide sandy expanse beside the Anglesea River, which is perfect for swimming, surfing, or simply relaxing. Paddle with the kids in the protected waters at nearby Point Roadknight beach.
Go from enthusiastic amateur to pro with lessons in surfing, sailing and windsurfing. Play a memorable game of golf alongside relaxing kangaroos in the natural bush setting of Anglesea Golf Club.
Roaming the Riverbank
Follow the buzz to the Riverbank on a Sunday morning to discover the vibrant market with its eclectic array of stalls. Stroll or cycle along the boardwalk to reach serene riverside picnic areas, or paddle your way around the channels by boat. Let the kids run free in the adventure playground at Coogorah Park.
Walk and ride
Explore the coastline on foot along the 44-kilometre Surf Coast Walk that passes through Anglesea and can be followed in either direction, along the coast and inland up beside the Anglesea River.
Bring your mountain bike and get into gear at the four cross track at Anglesea Bike Park before exploring the Great Otway National Park on tracks around Eumeralla and on named tracks through the park (seasonal closures apply).
Seaside delights
Recharge and replenish with refreshments from the buzzing strip of cafés and eateries.
Get to the heart of Angelsea's art community by setting out along the Mosaic Walk, a 2.5-kilometre stroll through Anglesea taking in six mosaic art pieces, then see how the sea air and outdoor life inspires local artists at local workshops and galleries.
