Tarndie is an historic working sheep farm with accommodation and a farm-gate Woolshop set amongst one of Victoria's oldest surviving homesteads.

The Dennis family have been growing wool at Tarndie (which is short for Tarndwarncoort) since 1840 and offers visitors a unique experience that blends farming, craft, heritage and modern hospitality.

Tarndie is the birthplace of Australia's first breed of sheep. Polwarth wool is soft, long and perfect for woolcraft. The Woolshop at Tarndie stocks tops and yarn produced entirely by the 1200 naturally coloured sheep in the paddocks.

A regular calendar of woolcraft workshops keeps makers up to date with new skills.

The Woolshop is open Saturday and Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm. The Courtyard Kiosk serves a great morning and afternoon tea with proper coffee and home-baked scones.

Live life on the land to gain a full experience of Australia with Tarndie's accommodation. Choose between for unique properties, The Farmers Cottage, Moorpark Farmhouse, Bleak House or Tarndwarncoort Homestead.

The Farmers' Cottage is a self-contained two bedroom 1940s farm workers cottage set amidst the flocks of sheep and overlooking the Homestead. It is the perfect option for couples and families. Kids will enjoy meeting the pet sheep, uncovering something in the vegetable garden and feeding the chickens.

The Homestead is one of Victoria's oldest surviving homesteads, containing eight bedrooms, five lounge / dining rooms, including a dedicated craft room. The Homestead is perfect for adult groups of family and friends, special occasions, corporate retreats and creative workshops. The Homestead sleeps up to 14 guests.

Additional services include restaurant transfers, private catering and Woolcraft Workshops.
