Mode and Motif showcases the works of three talented local artists and craft practitioners - Brett Tully, Sarah Boulton and Jenny Carrington.

Furniture designer Brett Tully produces highly-crafted furniture and homewares with a distinctive minimal and timeless quality, made mostly using reclaimed and sustainable timbers. Coffee tables, side tables, mirrors and lighting are featured in this exhibition, though Brett also makes larger pieces by private commission.

Sarah Boulton’s paintings reflect her love of pattern and texture inspired by the artist’s love of the bushland environment and seasonal change. Her vibrant use of colour and configuration immediately entice the viewer to come closer to explore the detail and richness in each work.

Jenny Carrington is a multi-faceted artist who has returned to the weaving loom after many years to explore the pleasures of woven textiles with amazing results. Jenny uses her own homespun and natural-dyed wool, as well as yarns from the Bendigo Woollen Mills to create her exquisite designs for scarves, shawls, knee-rugs and table-runners.

Mode and Motif is a must-see for anyone who appreciates beautiful things.

The dynamic atmosphere created by the combination of furniture, textiles and painting is uplifting and inspiring.
