Great Prom Walk

Wander the best of the Prom on a spectacular three-to-four-day two-foot adventure. Choose from the 35.5 or 52.8 kilometre route, amble through ferny glades and forest, climb peaks for coastal views, clamber over sand dunes and reward tired toes in Little Waterloo Bay.

Wilsons Promontory Marine National Park

Dive in for a unique underwater view of the Prom. The Marine National Park is Victoria's largest Marine Protected Area, extending along 17 kilometres of mainland coastline. Explore sponge gardens, see octopuses, sharks and rays, and venture to small islands, home to colonies of penguins, seabirds and seals.

Squeaky Beach

Play hide and squeak on one of one of the Prom's most iconic beaches. Rounded grains of quartz make a squeaking sound when you wander the white-sand beach, granite boulders form a maze of tunnels for explorers, and turquoise waters beckon toe-dippers.

Tidal River Campground

Peg, borrow or steal a tent for a camping holiday at the Prom's most popular campground. Canvas a spot among the hundreds of camping and caravan sites (book well ahead) then kick back and listen to waves at Norman Bay, a suitably sandy spot for swimming, surfing and sunset watching.

Tongue Point Walk

Change your point of view on a 9.4 kilometre (one-way), four-and-a-half hour hike to Tongue Point, with views of Darby Swamp, Vereker Range and Darby and Cotters beaches. Sidle down to the delightful Fairy Cove and make your way to Darby Saddle and Sparkes Lookout for magnificent coastal and forest scenery.

Wilderness Retreats

Set up camp in a luxury safari style tents with timber floors, decks and queen-size beds. Add a private ensuite, fridge, communal kitchen and easy access to breakfast and bistro meals at Tidal River, and this is a wildly luxurious way to pretend to be the outdoor type in pristine wilderness.
