A major exhibition, Robert Ingpen's Storybook Art opens at Metropolis Gallery featuring about 80 original illustrations and sketchbook pages from some of Ingpen’s best known storybooks including A Christmas Carol, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Poppykettle Papers, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, The Night Before Christmas, and Treasure Island as well as a wonderful selection of large tempera paintings based on Lincoln’s Place, Bellarine Peninsula.

Robert Ingpen’s distinctive storybooks explore fantasy and imagination, and environmental and heritage issues. As an illustrator and author of children's books, Robert’s work is known and loved by children and collectors the world over.

Robert Ingpen's Storybook Art will coincide with the artist's 80th birthday and is one of several important events happening this year including the release of the book Wonderlands the Illustration Art of Robert Ingpen.
