The Four Seasons Fine Music Festival was established in the rural Parish of Springmount in 2017 to showcase quality music from recognised and emerging musicians performing in two historic Anglican churches at Creswick and Clunes.

A Pleasant Sunday Afternoon will be held at St Matthew’s Church Newlyn, a clinker brick building in a small farming community between Daylesford and Creswick with a strong sense of pride and a desire to maintain its vibrant connections to the land and people who live there.

Its design is reminiscent of both Dutch and English designs of that era. In an intimate setting for 100 people theconcert will be performed by The Sweet Biscuit Ensemble, performing their English Connection, with music by Babel, Vincent and Handel. Sweet Biscuit Ensemble is a group of three professional musicians whose music will be well-suited to the church. Andrew Angus on oboe, Matthew Angus on bassoon and Peter Hagen on harpsichord all have extensive musical experience both in Australia and overseas. The program will feature a collection of mid to late baroque English masterpieces that explore musical life in London immediately before and after Handel.
