If you're looking to stock up for a special occasion or you're just after a taste of sunshine, country air and fresh summer fruit, spend a day picking your own at one of Victoria's famous berry orchards or local farms.

Whether you're into strawberries, raspberries or blackberries, youngberries, boysenberries or blueberries, you'll be amazed at the choice, quality and freshness of fruit picked straight from the field. While you're there, be sure to add a few jars of local jams, jellies, chutneys and relishes to your fruit basket. And it's not just fruit on offer, with some farms growing gorgeous sunflowers and other beautiful blooms for your picking pleasure.

Plan a road trip with friends, get your family together, or stop off on the way to your summer holiday destination and get your fill of Victoria's finest. Follow the Victorian Cherry Trail, and pick cherries on the green slopes of the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula. Delve further into the rich produce of the Yarra Valley with the U-Pick Trail, or load up on strawberries, blueberries and boysenberries along the Great Ocean Road or Geelong & the Bellarine. Hit the fertile pastures of Gippsland to sample over a hundred different varieties of berries or get on your bike and explore the Pedal to Produce trails of the High Country.

Soft fruit picking seasons run from November to February in Victoria but it's always best to check picking times before heading off on a fruit-filled adventure.
